Jeppesen continues to expand its online training capabilities with the introduction of Instrument Pilot Online training courses. With this offering, general aviation pilots are now provided with Jeppesen ground school and pilot resource training content for preparation in taking the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) instrument rating and written knowledge exams.
Announced during the Sun n’ Fun 36th Annual International Fly-In & Expo, the new Jeppesen Instrument Pilot Online course follows the successful introduction of the Jeppesen Private Pilot and then the Sport Pilot Online training courses for the general aviation community. The Instrument Pilot Online training program includes the required minimum of 30 hours of ground school topics and offers integrated and scenario-based flight lessons that stress single pilot resource management (SPRM) topics and effective decision making.
“Jeppesen is taking its training for the general aviation pilot to the next level with online training capabilities,” said David Wright, Jeppesen senior manager, training solutions. “Using an engaging presentation of text, audio, video and graphics, Jeppesen is the only provider of multiple versions of Instrument Pilot Online training, designed to meet the unique needs of varying training customer groups.”
Jeppesen offers three versions of Instrument Pilot Online training:
The Part 61 Enhanced Ground School, Maneuvers and Test Preparation course is available directly to students, sold through Jeppesen’s JeppDirect.com e-commerce portal. The Part 61 with Stage Exams and Flight Lessons version is targeted to flight schools and universities and includes all ground, maneuvers and flight lessons to meet FAR Part 61 requirements. Part 141 with Integrated Stage Exams with Flight Lessons training is also offered to flight schools and universities, to meet the more stringent FAR 141 requirements, which includes all ground, maneuvers, flight lessons and stage exams.
The individual student Instrument Pilot Online training course is available for purchase at www.JeppDirect.com for a one-year $259 subscription, which can be renewed annually for $39. All versions of the Instrument Pilot Online training courses are presented through the Jeppesen Learning Center, which tracks student progress and preparation.
