Coronavirus US Restrictions as of Feb 2 2020
In an unprecedented move not seen before in the United States, President Trump and US government officials have taken strong measures to limit the spread of the Coronavirus. The actions officials have taken affect both US Citizens and foreign nationals seeking entry to the US. On January 31, 2020, President Trump signed a Presidential Proclamation entitled “Suspension of Entry as Immigrants and Non-immigrants of Persons Who Pose a Risk of Transmitting 2019 Novel Coronavirus and Other Appropriate Measures to Address this Risk.” On February 2, 2020, in accordance with this Proclamation, the entry into the United States of all aliens, with certain exceptions, who have been physically present in the People’s Republic of China (excluding the Special Autonomous Regions of Hong Kong and Macau), during the 14-day period preceding their entry or attempted entry into the United States, is suspended. The suspension of entry under the Proclamation does not apply to certain individuals who meet specific requirements. Two US government websites which list the information on the new Presidential Proclamation are listed below
