Put Graphical NOTAMs into the Hands of your Pilots with Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro
See NOTAMs like never before with new Graphical NOTAMs in FliteDeck Pro version 5.2.
Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro 5.2 is rolling out to the market, and one of the most exciting additions is Graphical NOTAMs (available to subscribers of Smart Airports and Enroute Intelligence). Designed to reduce pilot workload and improve operational clarity, this capability transforms dense NOTAM text into intuitive, map-linked visual information — right on your EFB map display.
What is a Graphical NOTAM?
Graphical NOTAM in FliteDeck Pro depicting a Taxiway closure.
Graphical Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) takes traditional NOTAMs text and organizes it geographically so pilots and dispatchers can instantly understand where and how a NOTAM applies. Instead of scanning long text blocks, users can:
See NOTAMs grouped by category.
Visualize NOTAMs directly on the map and linked to specific approaches, departures, or airfields.
Quickly identify how a NOTAM relates to charts and procedures.
When you select an airport, NOTAMs appear visually connected to the relevant approach or departure and clearly associated with the corresponding chart — making intent and impact immediately obvious.
What’s available now in FliteDeck Pro?
The latest FliteDeck Pro 5.2 build includes:
FliteDeck Pro converts state and company NOTAMs into visual, map-linked graphics overlaid on the AMM (Airport Moving Map) and enroute map.
Graphical NOTAMs are displayed on the AMM for customers subscribing to Smart Airport Maps.
Graphical NOTAMs are displayed on the enroute map for customers subscribing to Enroute Intelligence.
Company NOTAMs can be graphically displayed on the AMM and enroute map for customers subscribing to NCS (NOTAMs Cloud Service) and NMT (NOTAMs Management Tool).
How do Graphical NOTAMs work?
When a NOTAM contains geometry (coordinates, shapes, airspace areas), FliteDeck Pro captures and displays that geometry on the map.
Pilots visualize the impacted area, avoiding the need to parse dense text to understand location and extent.
A toggle allows switching between graphical and textual views for added clarity.

Handle complex schedules with Graphical NOTAMs
NOTAM schedules can be confusing: a NOTAM might be active for several disjointed dates and recurring on selected weekdays with different time ranges. FliteDeck Pro 5.2 handles this complexity by:
Delivering machine-readable schedule information for downstream systems such as flight planning and dispatch.
The result is a clearer, more accurate operational picture and fewer surprises during planning and flight.

Technical advancements under the hood
NOTAMs are processed into structured, machine-readable formats.
Active periods are color-coded in the UI so crews know exactly when a NOTAM applies.
The backend translates complex geometries and schedule logic into intuitive visuals.
These improvements benefit both automation (planning/dispatch systems) and human operators (pilots/dispatchers).
Why do Graphical NOTAMs matter?
Graphical NOTAMs in FliteDeck Pro 5.2 deliver an incremental step change for greater operational benefits and enhanced situational awareness:
Better situational awareness on the flight deck.
Reduced cognitive load for flight crews.
Improved alignment with company standard procedures through company NOTAMs.
