Jeppesen, a part of Boeing Digital Aviation, will provide international operator Hi Fly airlines with digital navigation and electronic flight bag (EFB) services through a new five-year service agreement. Hi Fly, based in Portugal, provides international wet lease flights to supplement large airline operations on a global scale.

Hi Fly will use Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro on iPad to access critical EFB and navigation information, to increase situational awareness in the air and decrease flight preparation time on the ground. Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro services will seamlessly integrate with Hi Fly’s leasing operations and eliminates paper-based flight materials, to further enhance efficiency for the carrier.

“Through this agreement, we are seeking to become a fully digital operator and remove cumbersome paper from the flight deck,” said Captain Carlos Mirpuri, vice president, Hi Fly. “Wet lease operations provide a set of unique operating challenges and Jeppesen services provide the basis for fully digital flights that easily integrate with our customer operating systems.”

A long-standing Jeppesen customer, Hi Fly supplies operators with aircraft complete with crew, maintenance and insurance provided through such “wet lease” agreements. Digital Jeppesen solutions will increase operational efficiency and allow Hi Fly to transition to a completely paperless operating environment.

“As we continue to transition operators worldwide away from paper flight materials, we are pleased to provide Hi Fly with the fully digital services they will need to succeed in a competitive airline business climate,” said Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “Optimization of complex flight operations and reduced fuel consumption will allow Hi Fly to provide highly efficient flights that are leased to airlines in a seamless manner.”

Hi Fly is an EU-OPS carrier that is FAA approved and EASA and IOSA certified. Hi Fly is capable of remotely operating wet leased aircraft and adapts its operations for customer needs. Hi Fly offers high standards of safety and service, including providing aircraft with customer livery. For more detail on Hi Fly operations, please see www.hifly.aero.
