Jeppesen, a unit of Boeing Flight Services, recently introduced the Jeppesen Mobile TC app for 8.9 and 10.1-inch Samsung Galaxy tablets using the Android Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich operating systems. Jeppesen Mobile TC provides access to industry-leading terminal charts, airport diagrams, documents and Jeppesen Airway Manual text at the touch of a finger.
Designed to increase situational awareness in the cockpit and to help pilots move toward a paperless operating environment, Jeppesen Mobile TC for Samsung Galaxy tablets was introduced in reaction to customer interest for mobile Jeppesen solutions available on an Android based tablet.
“We now offer Jeppesen Mobile TC for Samsung Galaxy tablets as an introduction to the Android operating system with our trusted mobile flight information solutions,” said Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “We anticipate that we will expand our mobile offerings for Samsung Galaxy tablets and the Android operating system as we gauge customer demand for our services on the specific platforms available in this marketplace.”
Samsung Galaxy tablets provide an ideal system to deliver Jeppesen’s trusted digital flight information through a simple, intuitive interface that speeds decision making, improves situational and operational awareness and streamlines the flight process. Only available on Samsung Galaxy tablets, Jeppesen Mobile TC also provides own-ship positioning on airport diagrams (10-9 charts).
In addition to digital Jeppesen Airway Manual text and documents, Jeppesen Mobile TC provides pilots with full-color arrival, departure and approach procedures, chart change notifications, immediate online updates, high quality detail and zoom capabilities and offline access to Jeppesen charting data subscriptions.
Jeppesen Mobile TC for Samsung Galaxy tablets is now available for Jeppesen digital data subscription customers at no additional charge through Google Play. U.S.-based Jeppesen digital data subscribers in the general and business aviation markets will soon able to choose the number of devices that are powered by their Jeppesen data, through a new “install” provision structure to provide increased price flexibility related to four U.S.-based Jeppesen data subscriptions.
