In response to strong customer interest, Jeppesen today introduced the “Jeppesen Mobile TC” terminal chart application, designed for searching and viewing terminal charts through the popular Apple iPad® touch screen tablet computer.
The Jeppesen Mobile TC iPad® application, available for download online at the Apple iPad® App Store, is designed for use within the general and business aviation industries. Jeppesen research and design experts have determined that the 9.7-inch, LED-backlit iPad® viewing screen provides an optimal operating environment to view, search and update Jeppesen terminal charts. JeppView electronic navigation charting service subscription customers will have access to Jeppesen terminal charts through the new iPad® application at no additional charge, using one of four available site keys provided with JeppView and NavSuite subscriptions. If all four subscription site keys are in use, an additional site key purchase would be required.
“We are excited to introduce the Jeppesen Mobile TC application for the iPad®. We listened and responded to high customer demand for delivery of Jeppesen’s industry-leading terminal charts through Apple’s increasingly popular iPad® mobile computing device,” said Tim Huegel, Director, Portfolio Management, Jeppesen Aviation. “Our new iPad® application is designed for a very specific purpose, namely for searching and viewing terminal charts. However, the cross-market appeal of this technology will lead to further development of Jeppesen services available for the iPad® in the near future, as customers provide the specifics required to serve their mobile computing needs.”
The Jeppesen Mobile TC application provides pilots with another tool for advancing towards a paperless operating environment. Jeppesen will address iPad® applications for other aviation markets in the near future. Additional Jeppesen data services for iPad® in the airline market, including tailored electronic charting and crew planning solutions, are being evaluated. For more information on intended use, review the Application License Agreement at the Apple iPad® App Store – www.apple.com/ipad/apps-for-ipad/. Non-Jeppesen charting subscribers will be directed to www.JeppDirect.com to purchase the electronic chart subscription.
