Jeppesen, a unit of Boeing Flight Services, recently began offering data services for GENA Systems avionics units that provide helicopter aviation operators with mission-critical navigation information. Jeppesen NavData services are now available for the GENA multi-function display Sky Guide and Sky Commander avionics units commonly used by police, firefighter and search and rescue helicopter operators.

GENA Systems avionics units enable shorter duration and more accurate information during critical helicopter missions. Paired with Jeppesen’s industry-leading navigation data services, helicopter operators are able to provide quicker assistance in emergency situations through the GENA Auto Flight Plan feature. For instance, a communications specialist or emergency operator are able to enter a target address, and using Jeppesen NavData, a flight path is automatically created and instantly displayed in-cockpit, saving critical minutes.

“First-response helicopter operators will now benefit from Jeppesen data being onboard with GENA Systems avionics through optimized operations and the ability to achieve their missions more efficiently,” said Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “We salute the valuable services these helicopter operators provide for their communities and teaming with GENA Systems, we are pleased to provide our trusted navigation data for the challenging situations they face.”

Powered with the latest chart information from Jeppesen NavData, helicopter operators can also use GENA Command & Control (C2) to receive all flight details with a single click. Navigation, Flight Following, Mission and 2-way Communication avionics functions are available in one compact aircraft management system for maximum streamlined workflow between ground and air mission teams.

Using the GENA C2 feature, operators receive updated online delivery of Jeppesen NavData services using Jeppesen Services Update Manager tools, which are updated every 28 days based on the AIRAC revision cycle. GENA C2 also enables pilots to receive Jeppesen in-flight chart services globally. Jeppesen navigation services are available for regions including Africa, regional or full United States, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America, the Pacific region, South America or worldwide coverage.

GENA Systems avionics have been developed in coordination with helicopter pilots, flight assistants and operations professionals to deliver mission-critical information in a preferred format in the cockpit.
