Jeppesen, a unit of Boeing Flight Services, today introduces Jeppesen FlitePlan Online for business aviation operators. The new Web-based flight planning solution features an enhanced user experience and allows worldwide flight plans to be designed and filed in less than one minute.

Jeppesen FlitePlan Online builds on the framework of previous Jeppesen flight planning tools to greatly simplify the flight planning process, incorporating an easy to use, intuitive graphical interface. Jeppesen FlitePlan Online for business aviation operators includes intelligent routing, weather and weight and balance capabilities based on an operator’s exact aircraft configuration. The solution also stores all relevant flight planning data in a single online resource, allowing for repeatable flight planning operations and decreased pilot workload.

“Jeppesen FlitePlan Online for business aviation operators revolutionizes the flight planning process and offers a choice for delivery, through our mobile and PC-based solutions,” said Tim Huegel, director, Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “Eliminating slow load times and multiple-step data entry processes, Jeppesen FlitePlan Online was created in concert with pilot user experience data to build a solution that simplifies flight planning through a clean design interface that is intuitive to use by pilots.”

The new Jeppesen FlitePlan Online solution for business aviation operators is accessible through the MyJeppesen.com/business web portal, providing a single sign-on, one-stop experience for managing critical information, from install management to Jeppesen flight planning and other product access. Future plans call for Jeppesen FlitePlan Online flight plan data to be importable into Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck on iPad, so users can display their flight plans while in the cockpit. Flight plan imports into Jeppesen JeppView are also planned for the near future.

Jeppesen FlitePlan Online streamlines the flight planning process to enable increased fuel efficiency and reduced costs while enhancing situational awareness. The solution ensures that critical values such as maximum takeoff weight are within acceptable limits and considers all aspects of weather and aircraft performance data using proven models. Planned routes are overlaid on graphical current and forecast weather to increase situational awareness.

The new FlitePlan Online solution features an enhanced user interface that includes auto-populating fields, multiple search parameters and single screen entry for data inputs. On-screen aircraft models are tailored specifically based on operator cabin layout. Operators are able to easily recall and modify previous flight plans and designate frequently used routes as “favorites” to further speed the flight planning process. When complete, the final flight plan package can be printed, emailed or uploaded directly to an operator’s flight management computer (FMC) for easy delivery and filing.

Jeppesen FlitePlan Online is powered by the industry-leading Jeppesen JetPlan flight planning engine, used by business and commercial aviation operators for more than 30 years.
