US Aviation Launches Online 141 Ground School with New Jeppesen Program

Jeppesen online Part 141 training provides alternative for US Aviation classroom instruction

For the benefit of their students enrolled in their Part 141 Professional Pilot Training Program, US Aviation has partnered with Jeppesen to be one of the first training schools to offer the new Jeppesen Online Training course, designed to prepare students for their written exams and daily flight activity.

The new electronic instruction is being used as a viable alternative to part 141 CFI taught classroom instruction, but still has the interactive capability for instructors to track student progress. Under Part 61, students are able to prepare for written exams for all levels of pilot ratings by using DVD programs with online ground school instruction to fit their schedule. Jeppesen has already gained FAA approval and US Aviation worked with their local FSDO office to achieve the validation to offer this new training.

“In order to stay out in front with advance technology training, US Aviation has chosen Jeppesen’s Online Training Program to streamline training for our students,” said Mike Sykes, CEO of US Training Academy. “We’re one of the first to offer an alternative to Part 141 classroom training which is the first step in serving the needs of the students and will aid in attracting future students into aviation.”

The Jeppesen Online Training courses are delivered on the Jeppesen Learning Center, which tracks students and instructors as they progress through the lessons and exams. Instructors have access to review all student work including lesson completions, exam results down to specific questions, and all overall school results. Students control which versions they want to view, to maximize control over their learning.

“Jeppesen has been the long-time leader in providing comprehensive, high quality courseware for the pilot community. Today, Jeppesen is reaching new ground in the way we offer training to the Aviation industry,” said Kert Thielen, Jeppesen national sales manager, Aviation Education Market. “By replacing ground school hours with Jeppesen’s online course, partners like US Aviation can provide innovative classroom training for their students that is convenient and cost effective.”

At this time, the program is only available for Private Pilot ratings, but Jeppesen is pursuing acceptance for similar 141 programs for the IFR and Commercial ratings. US Aviation hopes to be the first to adopt those packages as soon as they are approved by the FAA.

US Aviation runs a professional pilot training 141 program that has drawn considerable attention from airlines overseas. Last year, several hundred foreign students were training and expanded enrollment is anticipated this year.
