Please note information related to the Turkish military operation so called “Operation Peace Spring” taking place since today in the tri-border area of Turkey, Syria & Iraq. Included is a map produced by our colleagues at Eurocontrol/NM summarizing the LTAA NOTAMs A 5702/19 & A 5704/19 recently released by Turkey (Ankara).
From open source information: Turkey launched today the operation “Peace Spring” to remove Kurdish militia forces from the northern areas of Syria’s Al Hasakah and Raqqa along the border with Turkey. The operation may include military air operations supported by artillery strikes.
Light weapons such as low-calibre anti-aircraft artillery or MANPADS could be use in the area of operations. Air-supported operations and artillery strikes are likely in the tri-border area of Turkey, Syria & Iraq.
