Downloading Avidyne MFD Engine Data

Avidyne MFDs allow you to download engine data, which is useful for a number of things like monitoring engine performance and trends, tracking flight time or reviewing a particular flight.

But there’s a catch… EX-series systems require a maximum 2GB USB flash memory drive (aka USB stick) to perform engine data downloads. This limitation has to do with the FAT file format of the data.

Unfortunately, 2GB USB sticks can sometimes be challenging to find these days.

We like this 2GB stick from SMART, and use it for bench testing with Avidyne avionics. It performs well for us, and they’re available through the Jeppesen online store if you’d like to purchase one.
