Jeppesen Names Paul Eckert as Vice President to Lead Jeppesen Aviation Operations in Europe

35-year aviation industry veteran Eckert appointed to executive position at Jeppesen

Jeppesen recently appointed Paul Eckert, a 35-year veteran of the aviation industry, as vice president, aviation, Europe. Eckert, a current ATP license holder and commander of the MD-11 aircraft, will lead Jeppesen’s European, Middle East and African operations.

“I am pleased to announce that Paul Eckert has accepted the position to lead Jeppesen’s European aviation operations,” said Thomas Wede, Jeppesen senior vice president and general manager, Aviation. “Paul Eckert is widely recognized for his professional expertise in the aviation community, and it is a great pleasure to welcome him as a member of the Jeppesen aviation leadership team. We look forward to Paul skillfully guiding our European operations through the challenges and opportunities associated with an evolving business landscape.”

Prior to being named to his new position, Eckert had served as an advisor for the Jeppesen senior leadership team for several years. Eckert has also held positions as a flight operations consultant and safety expert for national and European Union aviation regulation authorities.

Eckert also has served as an executive and board member of a major European airline, where he also accumulated approximately 10,000 flight hours on numerous types of commercial aircraft, both as a line pilot and as a simulator test pilot. Eckert is a graduate of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. In his new executive position, Eckert will be based at the Jeppesen office in Neu-Isenburg, near Frankfurt, Germany and will report directly to Thomas Wede, Jeppesen senior vice president and general manager, Aviation.
