Learning for our four-legged friends
City Limits Ranch is a unique non-profit organization that provides natural horsemanship opportunities to children, teenagers and at-risk youth in the San Jose community.
According to their website, “We believe that the principles of natural horsemanship teach life lessons and foster understanding and communication between peers and adult mentors, while empowering children and youth to better themselves psychologically, athletically and academically.”
The team in San Jose took advantage of a very unique opportunity to learn leadership skills using horses. They observed several ‘games’ involving the horses working with the trainers, and learned what horses can teach us as leaders. At the end of the day we took a short ride in the ring as a reward. We came home with a new level of understanding and slightly sore.
